BankWork$ is a Bank/Finance Career Training Program developed to open doors for young adults and adults from low-income and minority communities to help them find and success in well-paying jobs that can lead to a lasting financial career. * The classes run for 8 weeks, three days per week, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. Topics include workplace professionalism, deepening the customer relationship, financial services fundamentals, including regulations, and preparing for employment. * Targeted Occupations include Entry-Level Bank Teller, Customer Service Representative, Universal Banker, Relationship Banker, and Personal Banker, as candidates for local banks/financial institutions. In addition to a High School Diploma or GED, BankWork$ participants must be 18+ years of age, be fluent in written and spoken English, and have basic computer skills.

Career Pathways are Teller/Universal Banker to: Loan Interviewer and/or Loan Clerk, Title Examiner, Credit Counselor, Lending Officer, Mortgage Banker, Financial Advisor, and Supervisory/Managerial positions.
BankWork$ Bank Partners include: Wisconsin Banker's Association, Associated Bank, Bank Five Nine, BMO, Educator's Credit Union, First Federal Bank of Wisconsin, Johnson Financial Group, Landmark Credit Union, Old National Bank, Prime Financial Credit Union, Spring Bank, Summit Credit Union, The Equitable Bank, Town Bank, UW Credit Union, and WaterStone Bank.
Job placement services are provided to graduates and alumni for up to one year after program completion. Services include, but are not limited to: resume creation or revision, cover letter development, how to conduct an online job search, online job application assistance, interview preparation, wage negotiation, and onsite hiring events.
Tutoring services are provided on a case-by-case basis. For students that need tutoring that can't be provided internally, our Career Navigator and/or BankWork$ Instructor will refer them to an outside agency as a supportive service. Services rendered typically include, but are limited to: math, reading and English As A Second Language (ESL).

Most employers are required to report certain employment information to the State of Wisconsin, including quarterly wage information for their employees. If a "0" shows for any of these outcomes, it means that none of the students' information could be verified.

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
